The coral reefs are like nothing else on this planet. Occupying less than 0.1% of the world’s ocean area but providing habitat for 25% of all known marine species, they make for an immensely important part of the sea’s ecosystem. Our commitment to the oceans is deepened by collaborating with the Coral Reef Alliance. For every purchase, $3 are donated to help preserve the reefs.
The Coral Reef Alliance (CORAL) is a non-profit environmental NGO on a mission to save the coral reefs. Working collaboratively with communities to reduce direct threat, they provide long-term benefits for marine life. CORAL actively expand the understanding of how corals adapt to the changing climate and apply this knowledge to their work, giving the reefs the best chance to thrive.
Global environmental issues like ocean warming, overfishing and pollution severely compromise the corals’ ability to grow, reproduce and thrive. One third of the reef-building corals is at risk of extinction. Scientists predict that all corals will be in peril by 2050, with 75% facing high or critical threat levels.
